On 15 March 2023, the 1st Meeting of the Local Stakeholders Reference Group of the Programme “MUlti-STakeholder Labs for migrants and stakeholders (MUST-a-Lab) was held at the office of the Mayor of Livadia.
The newly formed Group consists of the Mayor of Livadia, Mr. Ioannis D. Tagalegas, the Deputy Governor of Central Greece, Ms. Fani Papathoma, the President of the Chamber of Viotia, Mr. Panagiotis Agniadis, the Director of Primary Education of Viotia, Ms. Giota Houliara-Sideras, as well as the General Secretary of the Municipality of Livadia, Mr. Georgios Ziogas.
According to the requirements of the programme, the discussion topics may arise from the proposals of the stakeholders and migrants, which are written down during the Policy Labs. The members of the Local Stakeholders Reference Group may review the proposals in order, if deemed necessary, to modify them and make them feasible.
During the meeting, there was a detailed briefing for the Local Stakeholders Reference Group on the programme, the needs of the migrants that have been gathered, the existing gaps in integration procedures as well as the proposals noted down in the 1st Policy Lab by the participants.
The members of the Local Stakeholders Reference Group stated that they wish to make the proposals heard through their suggestions for the improvement of local integration strategies as well as to take into account the information derived from the Policy Labs when participating in decision-making procedures.
The Mayor of Livadia, Mr. Ioannis D. Tagalegas, thanked them for their willingness to participate in the Local Stakeholders Reference Group as well as for their active participation in the 1st meeting. He also pointed out that the Municipality of Livadia, recognizing the value of synergies, will continue to activate stakeholders, citizens and the civil society and pursue the implementation of European programmes in order to improve the quality of life of the citizens.
