In the context of the European Programme “MUlti-STakeholder Labs for migrants and stakeholders (MUST-a-Lab)” implemented in Livadia, the 1st Policy Lab was held on Monday January 30, 2023, at the Old Town Hall of Livadia with a great response of the participants who were 28 persons in total.
In particular, there were migrants and stakeholders from the health, education, employment and citizen service sectors. During the 1st Policy Lab, experiential activities based on different innovative techniques were carried out to promote participation, the exchange of opinions and ideas on issues related to the social integration of migrants and refugees in various sectors of everyday life as well as the procedures followed.
The purpose of the 1st Policy Lab was the active participation of all the attendees so that they could express the needs to be gathered and finally, contribute to the redesign of effective local integration policies with the aim to facilitate stakeholders and migrants in their daily lives.
The Mayor of Livadia, Ioannis D. Tagalegas, recognizing the benefits of the European Programmes, thanks all those who took part in the activities of the 1st Policy Lab, scheduling their appointment for the 2nd Policy Lab on March 20, 2023. He also stressed that the participation of stakeholders’ and migrants’ representatives is valuable for the proper implementation of MUST-a-Lab, which is funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Commission and promotes social cohesion.
To sum up, Mr. Tagalegas pointed out that for the progress of our society we prioritize human beings, no matter where they come from.
